Spanky is a graduate of Shawn Michaels' Texas Wrestling Academy, which in one way or another has produced ROH stars such as Paul London, Michael Shane, American Dragon, Fast Eddie, Don Juan, Rudy Boy Gonzalez, and Masada. Spanky's "odd" style has quite easily caught the attention of ROH fans from the very beginning. He even competed in a match to crow the very first ROH Champion. Many consider that match, also including Low Ki, Doug Williams, and Christopher Daniels, to be one of the best ROH Matchs EVER. The match lasted about 60 minutes long, but unfortunatly for Spanky Low Ki came out on top. Later, Spanky would leave for the WWE where it took a few months but Spanky realized that it wasnt for him. He would leave in early 2004 to return to ROH as well as tour Japan, and other select independant federations.
