Steve Corino is a well known name on the independent circuit. Corino is a former ECW World Heavyweight Champion, as well as an NWA World Heavyweight Champion. During the beginning of his stay in ROH, Corino formed "The Group", a faction formed to take down The Prophecy. the Group consisted of fellow members Michael Shane, Samoa Joe, and CW Anderson. The fued came to a head at Night Of The Grudges where both teams met and the loser had to disband. The Prophecy came out on top and The Group was no more. Corino took some time off from ROH, constantly touring japan with Zero-One where he became the Gaijin booker (booking of American talent) and he achieved a great amount of success. When returning to the states, he started a heated verbal battle with ROH, mainly via the internet, and promised he would never compete for them again. He stuck by his words untill Homicide made a comment about Corino's son, Colby. This took Corino to his boiling point and the two met in what was considered by many to be a Match Of The Year candidate in 2003 at Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies. Corino was defeated in this match after his corner-man, Guillotine leGrande, threw in the towel on Corino's behalf. More heated battles followed and the 2 met one final time at War Of The Wire in a Barbed Wire Match. At this bout, the proverbial tables were turned as this time it was Homicide's Corner-man, Julius Smokes, that threw in the towel for his friend.

Following his feud with Homicide, Corino virtually disapeared from ROH for quite some time, untill Final Battle 2004 when he returned to team up with CM Punk. Only time will tell as to where his latest run in ROH will take him. Will he continue to team up with the Second City Saint? Or will he soon go it alone?
